Mike is a professional farrier who has shod and trimmed most types of horses in his 30 years of practice. He works on sport and western pleasure horses as well as shoeing and trimming a wide variety of equines. Mike is a certified member of the American Farriers Association since 1984.
He practices in Hernando and surrounding counties in Florida, as well as much of Connecticut. Mike provides equine hoof care within show and professional barns as well as private accounts.
Working closely with many veterinarians over his career, he has encountered and treated most every kind of lameness problem. Mike has extensive experience fabricating most types of corrective shoes, including all types of bar shoes, glue-on shoes, wooden clogs, equi-casting and more. He is experienced with hoof crack repair, hoof wall resections and reconstructions. He also provides natural barefoot trims.
